October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Today millions of people have been affected by breast cancer in some way...I am no exception.

My mom is a 3 time breast cancer survivor.  Her first diagnosis was in 1998.  She went through radiation therapy and after months of treatment the cancer went into remission.  Her second diagnosis was in 2009  This time she needed chemotherapy.  It was a long hard process and it took a toll on her physically and mentally.  Again the cancer went into remission.  The third diagnosis was spring 2011.  She had two options, chemotherapy again (no thank you) or a double-mastectomy.  Mom had a serious choice to face and in the end had the surgery.  She has high hopes that the mastectomy will take care of the cancer for good.  She has every intention to lead a very long life enjoying her family and grand babies.


I have always been inspired by my mom, but this last year has show me a new level of resolve and strength I knew she had but had never seen.  I am so blessed to have her as my mother and so proud of her resilience during all that she has gone through.  In honor of my amazing mother and all the other strong women who are fighting and surviving breast cancer and those who have not been so lucky but are strong in our hearts, I am having my very first giveaway!!
