It's fine, but nothing special. Mike admitted after I re-did our menu planner that he basically ignored the old one. Fair enough. {If you missed the original menu planner post you can check it out here. It may
Fast forward to now, the menu planner we have now is cute and bright and easily readable. Win-win-win! So here's our menu planner...redux.
Equipment:
12" x 12" picture frame
1 piece of scrapbook paper - that you totally love!
White paper
Printer
Ruler
Scissors
Tape
Sticker letters (optional)
Method:
Using either Word or PicMonkey Type out the days of the week in a font you like.
I alternated fonts for fun.
Next to the day, add in a starburst or some other icon that you like.
Match the icons to the colors in your paper.
Cut out 10 1/2" strips of paper around the lettering.
I got a little OCD and measured my paper so my days of the week strips were perfectly spaced. Point being, place the strips of paper on your scrapboook paper in a way that you like.
I had some sticker letters left over from my last menu planner, so I added a little "What's for Dinner?" at the bottom, with stars. Sue me.
That's it. Completely painless and way more readable than last time.
One of mike's friends has even requested a weekly snap shot of our menu so he can plan on what days he shows up in the hopes for being fed.
Word.
I love this! I've seen so many menu planners that I've loved, but they are such a huge commitment to make (like you put all of your favorite meals on card stock with magnets on the back). This is so simple I could really do it in no time. Thanks for the awesome tip!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and saying "Hi!" Cute menu board -- I wanna come eat at your house -- sounds better than my "grab it, cause we have a crazy schedule" method! New follower on facebook and pinterest.
ReplyDeleteI totally love this and I'm SO ripping off your idea! I've been needing something like this for... well... forever!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing!!
XO
Love it ( I loved the old one too). I was really good about using the one I made and got the guys to even consult it before asking me. Then I got lazy and need to get back to using it. Thanks for sharing at this week's BFF Open House.
ReplyDeleteJulie,
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I actually have that same scrapbook paper lol. I love that you can use dry erase as well. Thanks for sharing at Creative Thursday :)
This is so cute and I love how easy it is to make. I just write mine on a notepad on the fridge, but this is a cuter and better way to keep the menu organized. Thanks for sharing at Showcase Your Talent Thursday. I hope to see you at the next party!
ReplyDeleteJust made one! Thanks for the cute idea
