COOL WHIP Everyday Desserts ~ Frozen Chocolate "Soufflés"

I love dessert.  I dream of having dinner parties every night so I can make dessert everyday for the sheer joy it brings me.  While it's fun to try daring recipes and make fancy cakes, easy desserts that bring a smile to your face are where it's at.  COOL WHIP Whipped Topping makes putting together dessert a breeze.  It doesn't matter if it's a last minute dinner with the in-law's or your best friend's baby shower you've known about for weeks, COOL WHIP will help you get the job done.

Last time my Aunt Cindy was in town, my mom called me two hours before dinner and asked me to bring something for dessert.  She was already making dinner and she knows I always have some sort idea for dessert floating around in my head.  And I did.  I made these Chocolate Eclair Squares.

Chocolate Eclair Squares recipe

The COOL WHIP made this recipe light and smooth.  It was wonderful!  So you can imagine my excitement when I was asked to share an Everyday Dessert made with COOL WHIP with all of my amazing readers.  I ran into the living room, bouncing up and down with my news.  Mike's is a die hard COOL WHIP fan - he accepts no substitutions - so of course he totally backed my need to make an extra dessert this week.

I went digging through the Kraft website to find the perfect recipe to share with you all today.  I found one.  And then I found two.  Then three.  *sigh*  I made Mike pick between them since I was being so indecisive.  I almost made you all a COOL WHIP dessert trio plate.  I'm very happy with our choice though, and I have lots of desserts to make for future blog posts. Win, win.  This dessert is delicious, creamy, chocolaty, and perfect for a hot summer day - which we have a lot of in Arizona.  Best of all?  It's wicked easy.  So easy you could make some right now!

Do you have a special dessert you'd like to share?  Be sure to enter COOL WHIP's Fan Dessert of the Month Contest for a chance to win $500!!  Simply make a COOL WHIP dessert {the hardest part - picking just one}, take a photo, and upload it HERE.  And...GO!

Frozen Chocolate "Soufflés"
Adapted from Kraft

Ingredients:
2 packages (3.9 ounces each) JELL-O Chocolate Instant Pudding
3 cups cold milk
2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
20 Chips Ahoy! Chocolate Chip Cookies, crumbled
COOL WHIP, for garnish
Shave semi-sweet chocolate
Eight 8 or 9 ounce paper cups (or plastic if you don't have paper)

Directions:
  1. Whisk together pudding mix and milk in a large bowl for 2 minutes.  Stir in COOL WHIP.
  2. Divide half the cookies among the cups, covering the bottom of the cup.  This will be the top of the dessert.  Next, spoon pudding mixture on top of cookies, about 1/4 cup per cup.  Tap cups to remove air bubbles and settle pudding into crevices.  Repeat layers, and tap down pudding.  Using the back of a spoon smooth top of the pudding.  This will be the bottom of the dessert and you want a flat surface
  3. Freeze for 5 hours or until firm.  Remove from freezer about 15 minutes before serving.  Let stand at room temperature to soften slightly.  Peel away paper cup or carefully cut plastic cup from soufflés.
  4. Place a dollop of COOL WHIP on a plate and spread into a circle.  Turn soufflé upside down (cookies on top) onto the COOL WHIP.  Top with another small dollop of COOL WHIP and sprinkle with chocolate shavings.  Dig in!

This dessert is wonderful and COOL WHIP Whipped Topping combines two of my favorite things, chocolate and chocolate chip cookies, into one harmonious bite.  I love it!

    1. I'm sure they could. Thing 1 is almost three and he was my big helper. I whisked the pudding powder into the milk just to incorporate things and he did the rest. :)
