Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
From Better Homes & Gardens Cookbook
Ingredients:
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups rolled oats
8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, beat together butter and sugars until fluffy and light in color. Add eggs and vanilla; mix to combine.
- In a medium bowl, add flour, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon. Add flour mixture to butter mixture in two additions, mix until just combined each time.
- Stir in rolled oats and chocolate chips.
- Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto a Sil-Pat lined cookie sheet (or ungreased cookie sheet). Bake for 8 to 10 minutes {mine were good at 8min 30 seconds} or until edges are golden. Cool for 2 minutes; then remove to wire rack and cool completely.
