Sweet and Spicy Bacon-Wrapped Smokies

I got this recipe off my co-worker Rita at our New hire training pot luck.  This is the easiest, yummiest appetizer EVER.  I need to make a double batch next time.  They are completely addicting and they turn you into a greedy little pork lover...if you're not already.  ;)  I think Michael Symon would be proud.

Sweet and Spicy Bacon-Wrapped Smokies
From Rita

Ingredients:
1 package beef Smokies
1 1/2 packages bacon, sliced in half
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon chili powder

Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. In a small bowl combine brown sugar, cumin, and chili powder; set aside.
  3. Wrap one piece on bacon (half a slice) around one Smokie and secure with a toothpick.  Repeate for remaining Smokies and bacon until all Smokies are wrapped.
  4. Place Smokies in a 9" x 13" baking dish.  Sprinkle with brown sugar mixture.
  5. Bake for 1 hour.
  6. Serve immediately, or put Smokies into a crock pot, pour pan juices over the top, and keep covered on WARM setting.
  7. Eat, die, and go to heaven.  Seriously.
