Child to Cherish Batman Piggy Bank

What kid doesn't love piggy banks?  I mean seriously.  They jingle when you drop a coin in, they're cute, and  they come in so many varieties.  I was so excited when Child to Cherish asked me to review their Big Ear Piggy Bank.  I just knew my boys would LOVE it!

Child to Cherish features a broad selection of quality gift and keepsake items ideal for gift giving and receiving for any and every special occasion year round. Each item is set to to capture precious moments of a child’s life, and make lasting memories. Child to Cherish’s wide selection of baby gifts and keepsakes makes every baby shower, christening , baptism, birthday, or any occasion for that matter, all the more special.

The Big Ear Piggy Bank is well made, not too heavy and you can tell it's good quality. It's the perfect addition to any nursery, a great baby shower gift, or a nice gift for any occasion.

When this {not so} little guy arrived to my house, I had no idea what I was going to do with him.  I was nervous to paint him - what if I messed up?!?  But what else could I do?  So I sucked it up, pulled on my big girl jeans and bought some enamel paint.

With two superhero crazed little boys, I knew I had to hook them up.  Otto's favorite heroes are Batman and Superman {remember Otto's birthday?}.  Since Eddie is going to be Batman for Halloween this year, I knew that was my answer.  "BATMAN!  Mom Mom.  It's Batman Pid-gee."  Double win.

One of the easiest steps in this process was sketching out what I was going to paint.  Since the piggy bank game glazed already, I could easily draw with a dry erase marker and rub off anything that didn't look right.  My nerves began to chill out.  I had Mike give input on the design.  He is the resident super hero authority in the house.

With Mike's design blessing, I got to work taping off the edge of the cowl, cape and gauntlets/boots.  Two coats of black paint and 1 hour later I was time to bake that little piggy.  I let the piggy bank cool over night.  The next morning, I touched up the edges {the paint peeled funny with the tape, boo.}, painted the utility belt, and Batman logo.  Another and another bake and he was done!

Tah-dah!

Otto is head over heels for this piggy bank and Eddie thinks it's really cool too!  I think one of the best things about these piggy bank is that you can make them extra special for your kids or as a gift.

You can find your own Big Ear Piggy Bank on Amazon.com.  There are lots of great keepsake, baby shower, and new parent gifts on the Child to Cherish website.  Don't forget to check out Child to Cherish on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.
