I found Rudolf Cookies on Pinterest today and I'm in love. {the site these come from is in Polish, fair warning} I'm taking the design and pairing it with Cake Central's No Fail Sugar Cookies. My younger sister Sue is coming over tonight and I can't wait to make these cookies with her.
Rudolf CookiesEquipment:
1 half recipe No Fail Sugar Cookies
1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (half a 12oz pkg)
2 tablespoons shortening
Red Hershey-ets
Piping bag
#3 piping tip
Prepare the Sugar Cookie dough and cut out using a circle shaped cookie cutter.
Bake cookies and allow to cool completely.
Melt chocolate and shortening in a double boiler until combined and smooth.
Allow chocolate to cool down before putting into your piping bag.
You can place the chocolate bowl into an ice water bath and stir to help cool the chocolate more quickly.
Find something fun to do until your guest of honor arrives to decorate with you.
Make an upside down 7 and then add a couple lines for more antlers.
Two dots for eyes, a healthy squeeze of chocolate for nose glue, and a red Hershey-et.
Cool in the fridge until the chocolate is set and you've got Rudlof.
If your chocolate starts to get to firm to pipe while you are decorating,
put some hot water in a bowl and place the piping bag (tip out of the water) into the bowl. Wait a minute or three and you chocolate should be warm enough to squeeze.
I love decorating cookies with my family.
Sue loved doing these with you. You are a nice big sister : )
